Northumberland is a County rich in history, wildlife and miles upon miles of beautiful sandy beaches along this Heritage coast. It is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty.and is the perfect place for outdoor activitie. It boasts more castles than any other County in the U.K and is the perfect place to retreat for complete relaxation. It will inspire the artist or photographer in you.

Take advantage of nearby rail links from Alnmouth or Berwick, to visit Edinburgh for the day.

Positioned along this stunning coastline are the magnificent castles of Warkworth, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh Castle. Not forgetting of course, the famous Alnwick Castle, which has been used for the filming of both Harry Potter and Downton Abbey. Take a drive along the causeway to Holy Island and visit the Priory and Lindisfarne Castle, taking care to check the tide timetables provided in the cottage.


Things to see and do

There is plenty to keep you busy in Seahouses.

Indulge in the vast array of watersports, from diving to windsurfing, with wetsuit and surf board hire available locally.

There are wonderful links courses for golfers, with local clubs welcoming visitors. Seahouses Golf club is only a five minute walk from the cottage.

The area attracts a large number of cyclists and cycle hire is also available on a daily basis.

Horse riding is available in Seahouses and details can be provided.

Take a trip to the Farne Islands, from the harbour in Seahouses, to see the wildlife including puffins, seals and numerous other birds, in what is one of the largest seabird and grey seal colonies in England.

In recent years we have been fortunate to frequently see large pods of dolphins around our coastline. 

Drive along the causeway to Holy Island or take a boat trip at high tide and spend a few hours exploring the island.
